At the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025, the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) honored bKash, Square Pharmaceuticals, Walton, and Fabric Lagbe with the *Excellence in Investment Award 2025* for their significant contributions to the national economy and for attracting foreign direct investment.
Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus presented the awards during a ceremony held in Dhaka on 9 April. Also present were BIDA Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun and Chief Adviser’s Special Envoy on International Affairs Lutfey Siddiqi.
Kamal Quadir, founder and CEO of bKash, accepted the award on behalf of the company. BIDA recognized bKash for its sustained efforts in driving sustainable growth, generating employment, fostering innovation, and promoting financial inclusion.
bKash, launched in 2011, is a joint venture involving BRAC Bank, US-based Money in Motion LLC, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Ant International (Alibaba Group), and Japan's SoftBank Vision Fund. Operating under the regulation of Bangladesh Bank, bKash provides a wide range of digital financial services across the country.
