Air India Subsidiary Fires Four Senior Staff After Office Party Video Goes Viral After Ahmedabad Crash

A video of employees dancing at the office went viral on social media, just days after a tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad that killed 260 people. The incident has caused a lot of anger.
Four senior staff members of AISATS, a company that helps with ground services for Air India, have been fired. The videos showed workers celebrating at their Gurugram office, which many people found inappropriate so soon after the tragedy.
AISATS issued a statement saying they regret the video and the bad timing. They said, “We stand with the families affected by the crash. The behavior in the video does not match our values. We have taken strong action against those involved and are committed to being responsible and respectful.”
The celebration happened shortly after the crash of an Air India Dreamliner flight, AI 171, on June 12. The plane hit a residential area near Ahmedabad airport, killing 260 people. Only one passenger survived.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Authorities have recovered the plane’s voice and data recorders to understand what caused the accident.
Most victims of the crash have been identified through DNA tests and facial recognition, except for one person.
