In Season 2 of Andor, Adria Arjona returns as Bix Caleen, a revolutionary character. This season, Bix faces darker challenges as she deals with emotional struggles from her past.
One of the most powerful moments happens in Episode 3. In this scene, Bix is confronted by Lieutenant Krole (played by Alex Waldmann). She is cornered and pressured, leading to a violent fight that shows the harsh realities of life under the Empire.
Arjona described this scene as one of the hardest she has ever performed. “Everyone knew how important this moment was, not just for Bix, but also for the Star Wars story,” she told Entertainment Weekly.
Despite the difficulties, Arjona felt safe and supported by her director, Ariel Kleiman, and the stunt team. “Ari directed the scene with great care, so we didn’t need many takes. I felt truly supported,” she said.
Arjona mentioned that the scene reflects real-world issues, thanks to the storytelling of showrunner Tony Gilroy. “He shows how our struggles are mirrored in a galaxy far, far away,” she noted.
To prepare for her role, Arjona researched survivor stories, which was emotionally tiring but crucial for her performance. “I wanted to honor the experiences of those who live with trauma every day,” she said.
In a tense moment earlier in the episode, Bix pretends to have a husband to protect herself from Krole. “It’s heartbreaking, but it’s very real,” Arjona explained.
As Andor Season 2 continues, Bix still battles with PTSD from the torture she experienced in Season 1. “She’s not okay, but she’s still fighting,” Arjona admitted.
